Welcome to the Home of Celtic Athletics!
Celtic Family:
Howdy!! My name is James Shelton. I am originally from Buckholts TX, where I currently reside with my loving wife Kendra and our 3 beautiful children Mayson, Kyler, and Elijah. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station. I have been in the coaching profession for the past 8 years.
My greatest passion in life is my Lord and savior Jesus Christ! My wife Kendra and I serve our local community as the Directors of Children and Youth ministry at our local church body in Buckholts. We raise our wonderful children on a platform of Christianity and use that foundation to mold our children into great adults.
My passion for sports started at a very young age, but I knew this is what I would do for the rest of my life my freshman year of high school when I met the new coach who took me under his wing and dramatically changed my life for the better. He held me accountable not only as a student or athlete, but also as a Christian young man. These are all qualities that I hold dear to my heart and use every day as my philosophy of coaching. I am a firm believer in the triangular success method in schools. The triangle is completed by great leadership, great academic teaching, and great athletic guidance. Without each of these in your child's life, the triangle cannot be completed for ultimate success. Academics and Athletics will always go hand in hand under my guidance. I have the highest expectations for all of my athletes on the field/court as well as in the classroom. The term "Student-Athlete" to me means just that. They are students as well as athletes!
The #1 lesson that all children will learn in my program is F.A.M.I.L.Y! This stand for "Forget About Me, I Love You". This is not only what I truly believe in, but what my Lord and savior sends me to teach daily!
I chose to become a teacher and coach so that I could help mold young men and women in to prosperous Christian adults.
My family and I truly believe that Holy Trinity is the perfect place for us and are so excited to become a part of the Holy Trinity family. We have been blown away since the day we came to campus due to the overwhelming outpouring of love and welcome, but most importantly how my family and Holy Trinity share the passion and love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! From my family to yours, I would like to say thank you for allowing me to come in as your Athletic Director.
Please know that my door is always open and I look forward to meeting and getting to know each and every member of the Holy Trinity family!
Blessings,
Coach Shelton
Athletic Director for Holy Trinity CHS
