The Celtic Forensics and Academic Competition Team is two teams working in cooperation with each other. WHAT IS THE FORENSICS TEAM?
The Celtic Forensics Team is a competitive speech, debate, and drama team that competes in approximately 15 tournaments each year against both private and public schools.In the last five years, the team has won more than 500 individual awards, numerous team awards, seven team district championships, five team state championships, and literally dozens of individual district and state championships. Six students and Coach Chris Mosmeyer have also been recognized with special statewide awards by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.
The Celtic Forensics Team is an active member of the National Forensic League in the Yellow Rose District.
WHAT IS THE ACADEMIC TEAM?
The Academic Team competes in invitational tournaments during the year as well as the TAPPS district and state academic meets. There are 11 testing events in TAPPS: Ready Writing, Science, Number Sense, Calculator, Advanced Math, TAPPS Math, Social Studies, Spanish, Current Events and Issues, Spelling, and Literary Criticism. There are also two journalism events: Newspaper and Yearbook.
The Academic Team is one of the school's original extra-curricular activities, competing in TAPPS district and state since the school began in 1997. The school has earned dozens of state championships in the individual events and is recognized as a leading Academic Team among TAPPS schools
