Using a wellness approach, this course focuses on the major health concerns of teenagers, such as emotional and mental health, the life cycle, sexual education, alcohol and drugs, maintaining physical fitness, nutrition, body systems, and diseases.
Physical Education

9th – 12th Grades 1 to 2 semesters, ½ to 1 credit
Physical education is designed to provide the student with a general understanding, value, and appreciation of play and physical fitness. Through participation, students are given the opportunity to learn unity and coordination of the mind-body complex in order to enhance personal wellness. The course touches on many aspects of physical fitness, group games, and a variety of exercise forms. The fundamental skills, rules, practices, and sportsmanship of a variety of games and sports are taught.
Athletics

9th – 12th Grades 1 to 2 semesters, ½ to 1 credit
Holy Trinity fields athletic teams in basketball, competitive cheerleading, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, and volleyball. Students participating on one of these teams may receive credit for each semester of participation. Students may participate in more than one sport, and must fulfill attendance requirements to receive credit. Athletics is held during an elective period at the end of the day, and after hours, and all grades will be Pass/Fail.
