The Holy Trinity band, led by band director Jennie Miller, earned 34 points, placing third in the TAPPS 2A State Instrumental contest at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton. All of the band members who competed on Saturday earned Division one ratings for their solos.
Congratulations to Chris Walker, trombone; James Aller, trumpet; Luke Engbrock, snare drum; Austin Walker, piano; Mary Lindberg, violin; and David Weisbruch, saxophone.
With the Academic Team's second-place finish on April 2, Holy Trinity has now taken one of the top three spots in three of the TAPPS four fine arts categories--Academics, Vocal Music, and Instrumental Music. Though it did not place as a team at state, the Art Team earned fourth place at its district meet in March.
